Whitney Wilson, Arts in Medicine Practitioner

dance

Whitney’s artistic practice integrates dance performance, pedagogy and creative collaboration to promote well being, connection, and joy in her community. She received her MFA in Dance from Smith College, a BFA in Dance and a Certificate in Arts in Medicine from the University of Florida.  She joined the UF Health Shands Arts in Medicine team in the summer of 2018, facilitating dance classes for people with movement disorders, such as Parkinson’s Disease and Multiple Sclerosis, and now focusing her practice on parents awaiting babies on the Labor and Delivery unit at UF Health Shands Hospital. She is thrilled for the opportunity to situate her work in such a way that allows for meaning making, profound growth, and positive connections for the community involved her classes.
