Lorraine Lund, A.P., Tai Chi/Qigong/Massage Practitioner
Lorraine received her Bachelor’s degree in Health Sciences and Master’s degrees in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine from the Dragon Rises College of Oriental Medicine. As an undergraduate, she earned a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Florida with a major in Mathematics and minors in both Physics and African Studies.
In the hospital, Lorraine does not use acupuncture needles or prescribe herbs. She offers other Integrative Medicine modalities to meet patients’ needs, including massage therapy and gentle movement in the form of the martial art Tai Chi. She carefully attends to each patient she visits in order to determine which therapies will best support their health and wellbeing while addressing their immediate concerns.
Lorraine is certified to practice acupuncture and herbal medicine through the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM) and is a primary care provider licensed by the State of Florida Department of Health. In addition to her work at the hospital, she maintains an independent practice in Gainesville and teaches as an assistant at her Alma Mater Dragon Rises.
In her free time, she enjoys practicing Tai Chi, spending time with her fiancé and two cats, and cooking and eating great food.
Our collaborative partnership with Kids Kicking Cancer allows Lorraine to provide a bedside martial arts program to pediatric patients with chronic illness or pain.
