Jackie Larson is a long time Gainesville resident of 30 years. Having grown up dancing at Ballet Florida and South Florida Ballet Academy she took some years off the dance floor for degrees from UF and Santa Fe followed by 12 years as a nurse at Uf Health and Haven Hospice. For the last 6 years she has been the head ballet instructor at IndepenDance Studio teaching little ones to senior citizens. Jackie is grateful to come back to UF Health, with Arts In Medicine, for the opportunity to combine her passion and experiences to create opportunities for healing, reflection and fun!
Why Arts in Medicine?
I believe in movement as a catalyst for health, discovering oneself and connecting to the world around us. As a longtime resident of Gainesville and hospital nurse, I’ve seen firsthand the positive impact and growing benefits that AIM has had on residential patients, their families and the community at large. I am honored to pursue this dedication to understanding, educating, and pioneering the value and positive impact of the arts on healing and healthcare with the gifts and passions I have to offer.
