Austin Brockner, Musician in Residence

Austin BrocknerAustin fell in love with Gainesville while attending UF for his undergraduate and graduate studies. After three years away, pursuing a career in engineering, he moved back in 2019 to begin pursuit of one of his earliest passions: guitar and performing arts. Since returning to music, he’s become an active member of the Gainesville performance community as a solo singer-songwriter and lead guitarist for several music groups. Austin enjoys the expression and connection that comes with performing and is always open to new opportunities to share his heart-felt music. He joined the Arts in Medicine program in 2021 and is honored to participate in the great work being done by this organization.

Why Arts in Medicine?

“The Arts in Medicine program provides a wonderful opportunity to combine my love of music with my desire to help others. In my own life, music has been a tool to handle life’s struggles and navigate uncertain times, whether it’s something as simple as missing someone while they’re away or the tragedy of losing a loved one. I hope to bring comfort, healing, and even a little joy to others in the same way that music brings those things to me.”
