Leslie Tharp is a visual artist, who joined the Arts in Medicine Team in 2025. Leslie has called Gainesville her home for over 20 years, having originally arrived to town to pursue a degree in Fine Arts from the University of Florida. Her creative pursuits are focused on metalworking and creating large-scale public art sculptures.
Why Arts in Medicine?
My work in the field of metalworking education has brought me to the understanding that we all benefit from shared creativity. Whether you’re a seasoned artist, or someone who doesn’t consider themselves very creative, it can be very relaxing and rewarding to spend a little time working on an idea, or alongside another artist to create something from your imagination!
