UF Health Shands Arts in Medicine is seeking a dancer, visual artist, musician, and a yoga and/or massage therapist for short-term residencies to join our team of dynamic Arts in Medicine practitioners and artists in residence.
UF Health Shands Arts in Medicine is one of the long-standing and dedicated arts in health organizations in the US with a team of 16-20 artists in residence working in both pediatric and adult clinical settings and in wider communities across North Central Florida. Our mission is to deliver patient-directed arts engagements with the objective of humanizing healthcare experiences and to promote health and wellbeing throughout our communities. We are fully integrated into a large academic medical center and work to support UF Health’s mission of excellent patient care, research and education.
We are seeking a:
- Visual artist who is highly skilled in drawing, painting, mixed media, mosaic, and/or digital arts and design. As an artist in residence working in healthcare and in community, candidates must be both highly proficient in their primary art form and versatile in their ability to adapt arts practice and teaching to meet a range of health needs.
- Musician who is highly skilled in both vocal and instrumental work to work in the clinical setting. Must understand music in a broad context and be able to adapt to and perform a variety of musical styles including pop, R&B, country, gospel and classic standards.
- Credentialed yoga and/or massage therapist to work in the clinical setting with skills in facilitating mindfulness practices, tai chi, and/or qigong preferred.
- Dancer who is highly skilled in facilitating their art form. As a dancer in residence working in healthcare and in community, candidates must be both proficient in their primary dance form and versatile in their ability to adapt dance practice to meet a range of health needs.
All candidates across art forms and modalities must possess excellent communication and people skills and have a desire to use their artistic skills and strengths in service to others.

***5-20 hours/week, flexible hours focused between Mon-Fri, 9am-5pm (Wednesdays, 10am-12pm mandatory)
***Compensation starting at $25/hr
