Program Update: Dance for Life and Dance for MS

AIM’s Dance for Life and Dance for MS classes have combined, with a new day and time.

The dance classes for those with Parkinson’s Disease, MS, and other similar neurological movement disorders have combined under the name Dance for Life, and will now be held every Wednesday from 1-2pm. The class offers hybrid options for attendance: those attending can join via Zoom or in-person at the Senior Recreation Center in Gainesville, FL (5701 NW 34th Blvd).

Background

Dance for Life is a free, weekly dance class designed to help people with a diagnosis of PD, MS, or other similar neurological movement disorders improve physical wellbeing, social interaction, & creative expression, as well as targeted improvements in balance, strength, and mobility.

The class involves both seated and optional standing movement activities that incorporate elements of modern dance, jazz, ballet, yoga, and social dance. No prior dance experience necessary.
