Two AIM Dance Classes Return to Senior Center in a Hybrid Approach

We are excited to announce that Dance for Lifelong Health and Encore Dancers Workshop will both be adopting a hybrid approach for Summer 2022.

Starting April 7th, 2022, both classes will offer limited in-person attendance for local participants. The option to Zoom in to the class will still be provided.

The times for both classes are also changing:

Dance for Lifelong Health: Tuesdays 12:15-1:15pm

Encore Dancers Workshop: Thursdays 1:45-2:45pm

Dance for Lifelong Health

Tuesdays: 12:15-1:15pm

This program of free weekly dance classes designed for participants over 60 with the focus on fun, fitness, creativity, and community using easy dance techniques from jazz, modern, ballet, and various national styles that contribute to experiencing the joy of motion. By creating an original dance almost every week, participants have fun with others, develop a sense of accomplishment and help retain independence through maintaining and enhancing fitness, and general wellness. Wear clothing and footwear that are comfortable for moving on whatever surface you are using. For Zoom attendees, have a chair without arms handy. 

A medical waiver is required and can be found on Eldercare’s Website: www.eldercare.ufhealth.org. A physician’s signature may be required on this waiver prior to participation.

Encore Dancers Workshop

Thursdays: 1:45-2:45pm

Encore Dancers Workshop provides dancers who are 60+ with an opportunity to continue their practice in an adult- friendly environment.  The sessions consist of warm up, skills and conditioning, creative exercises, and dance phrase work using concepts primarily from ballet and modern dance and incorporating input from participants.  The classes focus on fun, fitness, community, collaboration, and goals important to the group. If you are dancing and/or have danced in your recent or even distant past, please join us and keep on dancing forever. Wear clothing and footwear that are comfortable for moving on whatever surface you are using.
