Program Background:

The Thriving Kind aims to create community, connection and self-nurturance through gentle mindful movement and art-making. This program is offered freely as a continuum of care to those previously hospitalized and living with chronic conditions. These 90 minute sessions are offered on the 2nd Saturday monthly from 10-11:30am and hosted by AIM visual artist in residence Molly Kempson and Integrative Therapies practitioner, Tammy Bernard, M.Ed, C-IAYT.  Participants are welcome to invite a caregiver, friend or family member to join them with all materials provided in an art kit mailed out quarterly with all necessary supplies.

The Thriving Kind explores the intersection of uplifting mindfulness practices and joyful art engagements with monthly themes such as:  Riding the waves, Renew with Gratitude, The joy of birdsong….  Art making will be non-representational using watercolors, collage, contour drawing, and open-ended practices suitable for people of most ages and all skill levels. The heart of the program is to foster connection and build a diverse community focused on joy and the development of practices for self-replenishment.
