The mission of Arts in Medicine has always been to connect with the hospital community and beyond around the arts in health. Our teams are proud to present new ways of connection to those who have limited access to in-person engagements through virtual live-streaming, prerecorded classes and workshops, and other online resources.
The following classes are available via Zoom, a video conferencing platform that is free to use and allows our team to teach classes in real-time (click the class title for registration information):
- StorySongs – Mondays from 3:00-4:00pm
– Songwriting workshop to expand knowledge of the basics of songwriting, guided by a musician in residence - Meditation for Beginners – Mondays from 4:30-5:00pm
–Guided sessions exploring foundational meditation techniques - Dance for Joy – Tuesdays from 12:15-1:15pm
–Dance class, designed for older adults, using easy dance techniques from jazz, modern, and various national styles that contribute to experiencing the joy of motion
(Currently available both virtually and in person at the Senior Recreation Center) - Dance for Life – Wednesdays from 1:00-2:00pm
–Movement workshop designed for individuals with Parkinson’s disease, MS, and other similar neurological movement disorders
(Currently available both virtually and in person at the Senior Recreation Center) - Gentle Yoga for Health – Wednesdays from 4:15-5:30pm
–Mindful yoga class, appropriate for people with a range of health conditions - Encore Dancers Workshop – Thursdays from 1:45-2:45pm
–Dance class that provides senior dancers with an opportunity to continue their practice
(Currently available both virtually and in person at the Senior Recreation Center)
