Treasures Art Show and Reception

Please join UF Health Shands Arts in Medicine in celebrating original works by Anupama Priyadarshini. This beautiful collection of paintings is inspired by nature and demonstrates the intricacies of Indian folk art.

Treasures will be on display December 6 – 29, 2017 in the Criser Cancer Resource Center. We will also be hosting an artist reception on Wednesday, December 13 from 1:30 – 3:30 p.m.

Treasures Artist Statement

I am a visual artist and artist in residence with UF Health Shands Arts in Medicine. I am very fortunate to have the opportunity to do something I love. My work at UF Health is with patients with Parkinson’s disease and other movement disorders. I graduated in India and earned a master degree in zoology. I also completed my graduate certificate in Arts in Medicine from the University of Florida.

I am an Indian folk artist but also very interested in working on fine arts, crafts, floor art and repurpose projects. I show and sell my artwork in the Gainesville community. I also fundraise for CIFAE (Conservation Initiative for the Asian Elephant). Nature and the surrounding environment always inspire me to create something beautiful. Most of my artwork is focused on life, birds, animals, etc. I use a nib, brushes and permanent markers as my tools. I also use bright colors on handmade paper and canvas with natural dyes, acrylic and mixed media.

Art is my life. It is my passion to learn art, create art, engage art and spread happiness everywhere
