UF Health Arts in Medicine serves as a national and international model for hospital based performing arts. Bringing dancers, musicians, actors and other performance based artists into the hospital, these programs engage patients and stimulate the environment of care in unexpected ways for the health care staff. Each week, any area of the hospital and clinical setting is transformed into a performance location – lobbies, waiting rooms, clinical hallways and even patient rooms have become the stage for artists to inspire and enthrall patients, family members, visitors and staff.
Examples of performing arts programs may include:
- AIM Together – a groundbreaking partnership between Arts in Medicine and the University of Florida Performing Arts that bring world class artists into the hospital.
- Brown Bag Cafe
- Dance for Lifelong Health
- Encore Dancers Workshop
- Joyful Motion for Health
