Kids Kicking Cancer

KKC Unit 42 Nov 2011 022“Easing the pain of children battling serious illness.”

The Kids Kicking Cancer (KKC) program helps youth facing serious illnesses to reduce pain and achieve peace using the secrets of the martial arts.

We offer weekly classes under the guidance of trained martial artists. There is no sparring – our opponent is pain and disease. Classes engage youth in breathing exercises, guided imagery, meditation, and traditional martial arts movements. Uniforms are provided.

Each class begins and ends teaching the following three principles of KKC:

Power: Have fun learning to become a powerful martial artist

Peace: Learn how to use the secrets of the martial arts to deal with pain and fear, and to find peace

Purpose: Inspire the world with your ability to respond to your illness as a real life Hero

We teach seriously ill children to:

  • Regain a sense of control over the chaos of their lives
  • Become empowered partners in their own healing
  • Provide inspiration and light to others facing life-challenges
  • See themselves not as victims, but as heroes who courageously confront their path and fear
